Sensory-friendly, person-centered nature experiences in southwestern Washington

What Is Nature Companions?
A companion‑style approach to nature connection
Nature Companions is a community wellness program offering gentle, accessible, and deeply human ways to experience nature. We move slowly, and we notice together. We follow curiosity, comfort, and consent.
Our sessions are grounded in sensory awareness, emotional safety, and the belief that nature connection is a basic human need — not a luxury or a performance. Nature connectedness is a pillar of our wellbeing. Everyone deserves the opportunity to spend time in nature.
The average person spends more than 90 percent of their time indoors. This is why Nature Companions emphasizes a “renewed relationship with nature.” We focus on seeing nature not as something fully separate from us–something “out there.” Instead, we are nature, too.
Whatever your relationship with nature has been, we can help you begin a new relationship with a new approach.
